Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Thermally-induced Cracking of Mass Concrete for Hydraulic Structures

It is know that thermal cracking is and important consideration for the safety and durability of mass concrete. This study aims investigates the causes of cracking of a prototype hydraulic structure to undestand which influencing factors are important. Model experiments on mass concrete in hydraulic structures were conducted and accuracy of the experimentals verified. The key factors that influence cracking of mass concrete were further investigated by numerical analyses.
