Islanding Partition of Distribution System with Distributed Generations Based on Community Structure

Abstract


For distribution network with distributed generation (DGs), islanding operation has become an important operation mode to improve power supply reliability of distribution network. According to the structure and operating characteristics of distribution network with DGs, this paper proposed an islanding algorithm of distribution network based on the community structure of complex network theory, which can transform the islanding problem into community partition problem. Firstly, it defined most adjacent matrix and gives the most adjacent connected graph of distribution network, which can transform the distribution network into a community structure of the network. Then, the paper used the fast Newman algorithm to solve the islanding problem. The simulation showed that the islanding algorithm proposed in this paper is suitable for the distribution network with ring network structure, which can ensure the continuous supply of the power and the safe and stable operation of the distribution network when island is operating and transform the island mode into grid connected mode fastly.
