Synthesis of (R)-(-)-mandelic Acid by Hydrolysis of (R)-(-)-mandelic Acid Ethyl Ester by Bacillus Cereus CGMCC No.12336
Abstract
(R)-(-)-mandelic acid was gained by hydrolysis of (R)-(-)-mandelic acid ethyl ester with Bacillus cereus CGMCC No.12336 as catalyst. The optimum hydrolysis conditions were as follows: 80 g/L cell concentration, 0.06 mol/L substrate concentration, 5% methanol, 48 h, 180 rpm, pH 8.0 and 30 0C. The conversion and enantiomeric excess of R-(-)-mandelic acid got to 97.2% and 100%.
