Research on Detection Technology and Protection of Hardware Trojan

Abstract

Based on the complexity of the design and manufacturing process of the Integrated Circuit (IC), it is easier to hide the Trojans, which makes the security of the chip and the hardware system extremely threatened. Therefore, the efficient Hardware Trojan detection technology is particularly important. Firstly, the paper expounds the related concepts, principles, characteristics and classification methods of hardware Trojan according to the internal structure of IC, and compares the Hardware Trojan and the software Trojan systematically. Then, aimed at the two kinds of Trojan design, this paper emphatically introduces the research status of hardware Trojan detection technology at home and abroad. Various kinds of detection methods are introduced and the advantages and disadvantages are analyzed at the same time. In addition, the safety protection measures of various kinds of Hardware Trojan are summarized combined with the case. Finally, this paper looks forward to the future research direction of hardware Trojan protection and detection technology based on the current research status.
