An Overview of Frequency Synthesizer Development and Application Prospect with Memristor Progress

Abstract

This paper presents the important application of frequency synthesizer technology in the electronic information system, and introduces the four basic frequency synthesis technology, direct type, phase-locked type, direct digital type and hybrid type, then focusing on the most widely used phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer (PLL) and direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDS). The development situation of its application in frequency synthesis technology is prospected in the new memristor.
