Interference Analysis of Pipeline Due to a Nearby High Voltage Transmission Line in Different Locations
Abstract
The induced voltage may appear on the pipeline due to the interference from the nearby high voltage transmission line, which will threat the normal operation of power grid. The diagnose of corrosion status of pipeline is needed, but it is impractical to examine all the segments. This paper presents the most possible dangerous situation that pipeline and transmission line may locate as well as the exact segment of pipeline where corrosion could be extreme. Though simulation models, the induced voltage distribution, influence of parallel distance and parallel length are analyzed. Suggestions are provided to help the diagnose and detection effort in the future.
