One-Level Menu Optimization: How to Make Conventional Things Better
Abstract
In this article, I address the problem of 1-level horizontal menu access time minimization while preserving the menu’s conventional appearance. The proposed mathematical formalization shows high computational complexity even for the considered simplified problem. As an alternative, a heuristic is proposed to produce feasible solutions in polynomial time; 2 results of the application of the heuristic are presented.
