An Improved Quasi-Yagi Microstrip Antenna
Abstract
A novel quasi-Yagi antenna in 2.4GHz was enhanced in this paper. The cross polarization component caused by the transition from microstrip to coplanar strip line was reduced, because the improved G shaped CPS (coplanar strip line). Two director elements were designed to improve the gain. And the gain of the antenna was increased from 3.1695dBi to 7.1147dBi. The antenna was simulated by Ansoft HFSS simulation software and measured by physical antenna., which was proved that the structure of quasi-Yagi antenna is reasonable, it can effectively improve the gain and the performance of the antenna.
