Factors Analysis for the Performance of Natural Draft Cooling Tower Based on Enthalpy Difference Method

Abstract


Thermal calculation model of natural draft cooling tower (NDCT) is established based on enthalpy difference method and the related theory of cooling tower, which analyses the influence of ambient atmospheric conditions and circulating water parameters on the out-water temperature. Results show that the environmental conditions and inlet water temperature have an obvious effect on the out-water temperature. Increasing height of the packing is beneficial to the enhancement of heat and mass transfer, but the ventilation resistance will also increase, and the out-water temperature will not be reduced after more than a certain height.
