Synthesis of Co/MoS2 by Laser Pyrolysis and its Catalyst Activity
Abstract
Molybdenum sulfides (MoS2)are efficient hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalysts widely used in crude oil desulfurization. This paper described the synthesis of MoS2 and Co/MoS2nanomaterials by laser pyrolysis method. Here, we investigated two catalysts sample MoS2 and Co/MoS2, which were active for deep hydrodesulfurization reaction. Sulfide catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and tested in the dibenzothiophene (DBT) HDS reaction. It was found that pure MoS2 and Co/MoS2 nanomaterials was obtained with hollow spheres form. And Co/MoS2catalyst has much better initial activity compared to the reference commercial catalyst.
