Study on the Construction of Low-Carbon City in China: An Investigation from Five Provinces and Eight Typical Cities

Abstract

Taking the first low- carbon pilot provinces and cities in China as the research object, this paper has made a comparison analysis with 11 indexes from 3 dimensions—low-carbon economy, low- carbon life and low-carbon society in order to find their common regularities and personal characteristics. Meanwhile, drawing merits on the low- carbon construction of typical cities outside, it tries to put forward the general model of Chinese low-carbon urban construction in order to provide some references for the development of other cities and help the establishment of low-carbon city in the developing countries.
