Wind Tunnel Test Study on Affection of Boundary Layer on Aerodynamic Forces of High-speed Train
Abstract
In the 8m×6m wind tunnel, the boundary layer in ballast surface of fixed floor was measured, and the aerodynamic characteristics of one head car of a 1:8 scaled high-speed train model in different positions under different boundary layer thickness of the ballast was researched, the regularity of affection of boundary layer states on aerodynamic drag and lift of one head car was gained. The investigation results indicate: the boundary layer thickness increases gradually from front to tail in surface of ballast, and basically displays a linear distribution, the regularity of boundary layer is the same under different test velocities. The maximum boundary layer thickness in surface of the 14.5m long ballast is about 210mm. The aerodynamic drag and lift of one head car are all affected by different boundary layer thickness in surface of ballast, and the affection on lift is more remarkably than that of drag. Under the velocities of 40m/s to 70m/s, the maximum difference of aerodynamic drag under different boundary layer thickness is 5.57%, the minimum difference of aerodynamic lift is 4.89%, and the maximum difference can be 21.97%.
