Abstract

In order to improve the air quality and the thermal comfort in the compartment of high speed train, an underfloor air supply mode was presented and compared with the traditional sidewall supply and bottom return mode. The airflow, temperature, CO2 concentration and humidity field were studied by CFD simulation. The Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) and Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied (PPD) were applied as the evaluation criteria. The simulation results showed that the underfloor air supply mode significantly improved the air quality and the thermal comfort. The results provide an effective way to optimize the air distribution and remove the air pollutants in the compartment of high speed train.
