Investigation of the Crosswind Influence on the Snow on Train Bogie based on Discrete Phase
Abstract
We numerically simulated the two-phase flow of snow and air in the high-speed train bogie region based on the two equations transient Realizable k-ï¥ turbulent model and discrete phase model. The no crosswind case and crosswind case are numerical simulated. The no crosswind simulation results were validated by the wind tunnel experiment. Comparing the two cases, the numerical simulated results show that in the crosswind environment, the flow field is more complex in the bogie region, airstream speed increases, airflow direction changes obviously, vortexed increases. Snow phase shows the crosswind makes the particles flow into the bogie top area decrease, snow on the wheels, electric motors, gear covers, end plate increase. Crosswind increases the snow on the bogie greatly, causing the snow on the bogie increasing timely.
