BARRIERS IN MOVEMENT OF DATA, BASED ON THE EXAMPLE OF REQUIREMENT PLANNING IT SYSTEMS
Abstract
The aim of this article is to identify and evaluate the importance of the barriers in the process of the movement of data in requirement planning IT systems in car industry . The barriers identified by the authors can influence the quality of the data in the systems which may result in worsening the efficiency of the supply process. The research was conducted in a global, automotive enterprise by means of observation, data analysis and a survey conducted among the employees who participate in the process of data transformation within the supply process. The result of the research was assisted by the Ishikawa diagram and statistical analysis of the survey questions. The authors confirmed the thesis that the technical, psychological and communication barriers as well as the content itself identified in the literature contribute to the worsening of the quality of the data in requirement planning IT systems. Apart from the above mentioned barriers, the data is also influenced by so called illusion of understanding. The authors also rated the importance of the barriers and proposed corrective measures which enable the employees to reduce the influence of the barriers on the quality of the data.
