Abstract

This study is the further research into previous study and there are changes made. The first change is to include the measuring capacity that is Equation (1) and the second change is the amendment to equation (3) relates to correction compensation. This study proposes statistical base criteria for the selection of the most appropriate measuring instrument. Three formulae are proposed completely different from the traditional methods and MSA. Procedures to implement and follow up actions too, are provided so that readers could follow the steps easily to avoid mistakes. Equation (1) is novel because it deals with the problem of measuring instrument capacity which has not been mentioned and taken for granted in the past by traditional methods and MSA. There is no doubt that these procedures are more complicated than the traditional methods; however they are convincing due to the use of statistical information and measurement uncertainty couple with the current concept of metrological traceability.
