A Numerical Simulation Study on the Effect of Seawall Construction on Neighboring Piers
Abstract
A study is carried out on the Ou River-Feiyun River embankment’s passing through the Ningbo- Taizhou-Wenzhou highway based on ABAQUS finite element software. Results prove that: 15 years after the completion of the seawall, the maximum displacement of the longitudinal direction of bridge, the maximum displacement of the transverse direction of bridge and the maximum settlement of the typical section of intersection are respectively -80.87cm, -38.94cm and 382.2cm. Seawall construction has the largest influence on the main pier of the enclosed side. The displacement of the longitudinal direction of bridge, the displacement of the transverse direction of bridge and the settlement are respectively 25.56cm, -10.68cm and 3.49cm at the end of seawall construction. Seawall construction also has the largest influence on the approach pier of the enclosed side. The displacement of the longitudinal direction of bridge, the displacement of the transverse direction of bridge and the settlement are respectively -26.14cm, -8.47cm and 0.74cm.
