Evaluation of Ecosystem Services Value of Farmland Shelterbelt in Mu Us Sandland
Abstract
Evaluation of the farmland shelterbelt ecosystem services is of vital importance for protecting ecological environment in Mu Us sandland. Based on the Forest Ecosystem Services Assessment Standards (LY/T1721-2008) issued by the State Administration of Forestry, the farmland ecological services function value was evaluated in 2012. The results showed that the total ecological services function value of the farmland shelterbelt were 2.72×106 Yuan in 2012, of which the value of crops yield increment, soil protection, CO2 fixation and O2, air purification release, biodiversity protection, accounted for 1.07×106 Yuan, 1.34×106 Yuan, 3.80×103 Yuan, 2.28×103 Yuan, 3.68×105 Yuan respectively. Due to the fact that the ecological service function value of shelterbelt is tremendous, it is suggested that the ecological service market compensation mechanism should be established as early as possible.
