Study on the Influence of Stiffener’s Arrangement on the Impact Safety of Layer Door

Abstract


In this paper, the nonlinear FE simulation software LS-DYNA was used to simulate the impact on six kinds of layer doors. The results show that vertical stiffener can absorb partial impact kinetic energy, optimize the stress distribution, and significantly improve the safety performance of layer door. Conversely, the transverse stiffener reduce the impact safety of layer door. At the same time, the impacting test on layer door is carried out, and the experimental result was consistent with the simulation analysis, which verified the correctness of finite element analysis. The conclusions of simulation analysis and experiment will be helpful to the optimization design of stiffener’s arrangement.
