Urban Human Settlement Environment Suitability Assessment—A Case Study of Beijing
Abstract
In this study, an index system for evaluating the suitability of urban human settlements was established by analytic hierarchy process (AHP). According to the single index score of information entropy standardized scaling treatment, the suitability of human settlements in Beijing from 2004 to 2017 was comprehensively evaluated. The results show that the suitability of human settlements in Beijing is obviously improved, and the suitability of resources and environment has experienced significant fluctuations, which is different from the trend of sustainable growth of economic and social habitability. The purpose of this study is to improve the understanding of the historical changes and future development trends of the human settlements environment in Beijing, and to further promote the construction of the human settlements environment in the capital and the continuous improvement of the quality of life of the citizens.
