Scientists' Research Topic Evolution Analysis Based on LDA Topic Model

Abstract

Based on the LDA topic model, we focus on the topic evolution of scientists' scientific research. Utilizing the published papers of authors in members of Society of Management Science and Engineering, we find that there are some phenomena such as evolution, expansion and disappearance in the selection of research topics of scientists in the field. The application of LDA theme model in the field of management science and engineering and the discussion of the evolution of research themes in the past 20 years will help researchers accurately grasp the competitive situation and main trends in the frontier fields and effectively plan research topics.
