A Model for Inversing Sea Surface Wind Speeds by Using Microwave Radiation Imager Brightness Temperatures
Abstract
Based on the microwave radiative transfer theory, this thesis simulates the brightness temperature measured by Microwave Radiation Imager(MWRI) flown aboard Chinese FY-3B meteorological satellite, a new semi-statistical model for the development of the inversion algorithm is established through comparison of the simulated results with the simultaneous satellite measurements, and the MWRI five channels are log-linearly combined to inverse the real-time sea surface wind speeds under conditions of no precipitation. The results are compared to the ocean buoy measurements during June to August in 2011, shows small differences.
