Method for Rapidly Accumulating Ash of Gasoline Particulate Filter
Abstract
Gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine has the property of high particulate matter (PM) emissions. It will be an inevitable trend for GDI engines to install gasoline particulate filter (GPF). This article uses the GDI engine as the main component and uses a mixture of lubricating oil and gasoline as fuel to achieve the goal of accumulating ash quickly on the GPF. This method can shorten the time for obtaining the GPF containing the target ash component and facilitate the study of the effect of ash on the performance of GPF. The results show that this method can achieve the goal of accumulating ash quickly on GPF. The ash deposition rate was 0.8g/h, and the ash deposition efficiency was 28%. During the experiment, the engine had a small probability of knocking, a slight drop in torque and oil dilution. However, the degree of these phenomena is light and does not affect the overall conduct of the trial.
