Power Management and Control Way of Renewable Energy MicroGrid Based on STATCOM
Abstract
The microgrid is an important unit of the future Grid, with different characteristics from a conventional grid. This paper mainly investigates a microgrid based on a diesel generator, two wind power generators, two loads and one STATCOM. The model is established, and the system characteristics are studied in depth in several different scenarios. The STATCOM can compensate active and reactive power needed by the load and strengthen the system’s stability.
