Research on Flow Field Simulation and Scour-optimization of Bridge Pier Column Under Water

Abstract

Bridge pier column under water is usually affected by the flowing water scour and water corrosion on concrete. Through modeling analysis on circular pier column and water flow field, this paper obtains the relationship between water flow field around pier and pier column contour, puts forward measures and methods to reduce the circular pier scour and carries out scour-optimization on pier contour, providing reference for bridge pier column design.
