Design Case Representation Under Decision-based Design Theory

Abstract

Current case representation methods are inappropriate to support case retrieval and case-based reasoning process under decision-based design environment. Therefore, a case representation approach of mechanical product based on decision based design theory is proposed. The design unit concept and its classification and expression methods are proposed with knowledge components and decision-based design theory. Furthermore, a product design case model are presented. This study provides a new idea for the case representation method, and explores the integration of design reuse technology with case representation under the decision-based environment.
