Experimental Study on Anaerobic Digestion of Rice Straw for Biogas and Organic Fertilizer Co-production
Abstract
The effect of fermentation conditions on biogas production and constituents of fermentation residue was discussed during the anaerobic digestion of rice straw waste. A self-designed laboratory-scale continuous anaerobic biogas digester was used in this study. The results showed that the peak value of biogas production was attained on the 16th day in C group substrates. However, the highest CH4 content was 60.8% on the 24th day in B group substrates. The cumulative biogas production of C group substrates was the highest, about 18 720 mL, which was followed by D (15 057 mL), B (12 103 mL), and A group substrates (10 754 mL).
