The Adsorption Kinetics in Process of Methylene Blue Adsorbed by Modified Peanut Shell Power

Ru Liu

Abstract

The adsorption characters of methylene blue on two modified peanut shell power in aqueous solution were studied. The adsorption mechanism was developed in view of adsorption kinetics. The results show that the equilibrium adsorption capacity of peanut shell power modified by epichlorohydrin is larger than peanut shell power modified by methanal under the same conditions. And both the adsorption behavior of two modified materials could be described by pseudo second-order kinetic model accurately. Moreover, the adsorption rate is not only controlled by intra-particle diffusion but also by extra-particle diffusion process.
