Study on the Impact of the New Round of Medical System Reform on the Health of Residents in China: Based on the Comparative Perspective of 31 Provinces

Abstract


New medical reform has lasted for more than seven years, so studying new medical reform’s impact on people’s health has a realistic significance. Based on the panel data of 31 provinces in China during 2009-2014, the article analyzes it on DEA-Tobit two-stage analysis framework. The results showed that the impact on the resident’s health caused by the reform indicates significant regional differences. The population density and GDP per capita have positive correlations with residents’ health, but the urban population percentage has the opposite correlation.
