Declining Birth Rates and Its Discourse: Taiwan's Private Universities Teachers as Victim

Abstract


Taiwan's birth rate is already the lowest in the world and social impacts of declining birthrate also emerged one by one. It affects school enrollment and teacher jobs especially in private schools. In such a social atmosphere this article points out: To examine that the recurring issue of education, we can be found in the root of the problem point towards the discourses of declining birthrate and related policy agency. Many practices of government response to the declining birthrate, not only correspondence the interests of employers but also became tools of oppression and exploitation teachers. Conclusion of this article points out return “education publicization " is the basis for protection of labor rights of teachers.
