Teaching Design of Bilingual Courses for Electronic and Information Engineering Majors

Abstract


Based on characteristics of the Electronic and Information Engineering major, five fundamental core courses and two bilingual courses are determined. Combined with practical levels of students in writers’ university, principles and methods of teaching materials compilation and teachers’ selection are proposed. Bilingual teaching organization forms and principles and methods of in-class lectures are discussed. Students are strongly recommended to make full use of free internet video resources to have access to the newest specialty-related information, to read first-hand English scientific literature and grasp authentic academic language. Through study of a series of bilingual courses, equipped with ability of acquiring specialty knowledge and solid English literature reading foundations, students will become well-prepared for pursuing design, research or development work in their future careers.
