The Guiding Role of Mozi's "Universal Love" Thought to College Students

Abstract

The core content of Mozi's ideology is the “universal loveâ€. It is an ethical principle that advocates people to care for each other regardless of their dear ones, their wealth and their worth, treat each other as equals, mutual benefit and mutual aid, spirit. Starting point of "universal love" thought is to bring goodness and remove all evil. The way to achieve the goal is to establish a system of "mutual benefit." This article first analyzes the connotation and characteristics of Mozi's "universal love" thoughts, and then summed up the characteristics of "universal love" profound thinking of contemporary college students.
