Comparative Study of Education System of Fashion Design Specialty Between Universities of Fujian Province and Taiwan
Abstract
Through literature research and field investigation, this paper compares the development and current situation of the higher education system of fashion design specialty in Fujian and Taiwan, and further studies the differences between educational system, personnel training objectives, enrollment methods and curriculum planning. Compared with Fujian and Mainland China, Taiwan's education system of fashion design specialty diversifies in the length of schooling and the enrollment system , which is beneficial to absorb various types and levels of learners who are willing to engage in the clothing industry; Research shows that Taiwan universities differ in the personnel training objectives and the curriculum planning, and the flexible, distinctive and differentiated education system help to avoid competition and is beneficial to the training of all kinds of talents in the clothing industry. The paper proposed that higher education of fashion design in Fujian should carry out reforms and enhance the diversity, autonomy and flexibility, and cultivate qualified talents for Fujian clothing industry in the process of upgrading and transformation.
