Research Situation of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy Technology

Abstract

In order to understand the research status of boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), objectively reflect the research trends and research hotspots in this field. The "Web of Science Core Collection" was used as a search object to search for the literatures on "BNCT treatment equipment and drugs" (-2018). Bibliometrics was used to analyze the application trends, institutional distribution, authors, and research clusters of BNCT. RESULTS: A total of 886 related literatures were retrieved. BNCT is mainly used to treat glioma cancers such as brain tumors, melanoma, head and neck cancer，and so on. Researchers carried out many experiments on boron drugs and metrology detection, while. accelerator-based BNCT is a hot field recently. All in all, there have been no obvious technological breakthroughs since 2010, and new research areas have not been mature yet.
