Research on the Status Quo and Influencing Factors of Environmental Education in the Primary Schools at Shenzhen, China

Abstract


In order to understand the current situation of environmental education of the primary school at Shenzhen as well as the related impact factors, the method of questionnaire was adopted in this study. Taking four primary schools as an example, 1036 students were investigated. The students’ environmental knowledge and awareness, environmental education in schools and environmental education in family and community were investigated. The returned questionnaires were counted and analyzed. The result shows that the overall level of environmental education in Shenzhen primary school is in the middle grade. And the environmental education in schools, family and community have a significant impact on the elementary school environmental education in Shenzhen. Besides, the environmental education in family and community is the weak point of the primary school environmental education in Shenzhen. Lastly, several suggestions and countermeasures were put foward.
