Efficiency Evaluation of Public Transportation in Beijing Based on Super-Efficiency DEA Method

Abstract

The investment in urban public transportation resources in China has increased year by year, and its efficiency has been widely concerned by all walks of life. Based on the data of public transportation in Beijing from 2004 to 2017, the efficiency of the ultra-efficiency model was used to evaluate and analyze the efficiency. The results showed that the efficiency of public transportation is increasing but the growth trend is slowing down. Before 2010, the efficiency is not effective. The external environment of urban traffic has a significant impact on efficiency. Therefore, the public transportation system should be improved to ensure the effective use of input resources and to enhance the adaptability of public transportation to the external environment.
