Analysis on Mizuki's Self-acceptance and Awakening in Murakami's A Shinagwa Monkey
Abstract
A Shinagwa Monkey written by Haruki Murakami tells a story that a young woman named Mizuki who lives in Japan has trouble in forgetting her name. With the help of the counselor in the government, she finally solved this problem and was able to face up to the reality with courage. This paper intends to clarify the deep connotation of the novel from three important clues (name tag, Yuko, A Shinagwa Monkey) related to Mizuki’s trouble.
