Study on the Comprehensive Evaluation of the Environmental Performance of Thermal Power Enterprises in China
Abstract
The scientific evaluation of environmental performance is an effective measurement to push enterprises to perform environmental protection duties and make right operational decisions. Drawing on the environmental performance evaluation standards of the international IS014031 and the Ministry of Environmental Protection in China, this paper proposes a comprehensive environmental performance evaluation indicator system for thermal power enterprises, taking into account of four dimensions of environmental operation, environmental management, environmental finance and external communication and with the integration of essential indicators and supplementary indicators, constructs a comprehensive environmental performance evaluation model on the basis of principal component analysis, makes empirical analysis of the 2012-2014 statistical data of listed thermal power companies in China, and finally puts forward recommendations for the improvement of environmental performance.
