Technology Spillover Effect of Intermediate Goods Imports for Each Region of China

Abstract

Will the technology spillover effect of intermediate goods imports have a different impact on the various regions of our country? Using CH model with our country 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions 2005--2014 year data samples, we have carried out the empirical analysis to find out how domestic R&D, intermediate goods imports and FDI have impact on the regional TFP .Results show that: domestic R&D capital investment and imports of intermediate goods for each area have a positive impact, but technology spillovers of intermediate goods imports have larger impacts on total factor productivity in the western region. FDI plays an opposite role to our country regional TFP.
