An Innovative Campaign is Changing the Fabric of Chinese Science Education: Opportunities and Challenges
Abstract
Following a world trend of education reform, China has launched a campaign of innovation and entrepreneurship education. To illustrate the effects of the campaign on science education, this article describes and analyzes the changes in educational ideology and practice, involving a wide range of funding and policy supporting, curriculum complement, teaching ability building, entrepreneurship supervision improvement, etc. Findings show that these tasks and measures surely not only bring about many opportunities and/or challenges to higher education institutions on their way of international and domestic competitions, but also for science education in particular. The conclusion is that an innovative campaign is changing the fabric of Chinese science education.
