Discussion on Teaching Methods: How to Determine the Numbers of the Independent Components in Salt-water Systems
Abstract
Gibbs phase rule plays an important role in solution chemistry and phase chemistry, and it can quantitatively determine the relationships of the numbers of phase and the independent component with the degree of freedom to provide the theoretical guidance for phase diagram. However, the number of independent component in a certain system is difficult to make sure, so more details on how to understanding and determination the number of independent component was introduced.
