On Construction of Agricultural Product Brand in Hainan Province, China
Abstract
There are mainly three factors of supply side that have resulted in the decrease of agricultural quality efficiency and the weakening of market competitiveness of Hainan Province: the insufficiency of the capacity of local agricultural products especially the supply of high-end, ecological and safe ones; the extrusion of comparative benefits of agriculture caused by the rising costs of production and the falling prices of products under homogenization; the descending land productivity owing to the high index of land multiple cropping. Therefore, the province needs to push on the agricultural supply side reform and improve its quality efficiency and competiveness by forging its tropical characteristic agriculture which is also the main starting point for increasing farmers' income as well as the objective of agricultural market transformation and upgrading.
